Wills and probate
Legis provides the most intuitive and effective case
management tool available today. Like all of our products, the Wills & Probate
module comes with a comprehensive range of documents and features that will
enable your firm to speed through your daily workload. Should you have any
special requirements, Legis can be rapidly tailored to an unprecedented level.
Legis users can easily select, arrange and customise appropriate clauses for
drafting Wills, and fully track all assets and liabilities when handling
Probate. Probate forms, including the IHT 200, can be generated and populated
directly from data stored in the database.

Matter
Inception
A fast and effortless inception process allows you to enter
as much or as little information as you have available. Changing or adding to
this data at any future point is simple and allows rapid customisation of your
client’s requirements, while automatic checks reduce or eliminates costly
mistakes.

Assets and
Liabilities
Naturally, accurate and effective management of assets and
liabilities is a critical aspect to those working in Wills & Probate. Our simple
stepwise methods makes the once onerous task of storing and tracking these items
quick and easy.
Multiple Parties
Multiple Clients. Unlimited related
parties (Agents, Banks, Building Societies, Insurers, etc.). Parties maintained
centrally. Links between parties allow salutations to be personalised.
Fees and Disbursements
Full tracking of all disbursements and fees is a major
feature. Individual entries can be flagged as ‘Paid’, ‘Unpaid’ or ‘To be paid’.
Financial control is maintained through special billing processes enabling you
to keep accurate track of the financial position of the matter. Reports can be
output to Excel or Word.
Documents
Document management and production under Legis is simple.
Single letters, wills or indeed whole bundles of documents are produced and
stored for you effortlessly. The resultant output can be printed, emailed, faxed
etc. as required. You can also decide if you want all your incoming documents,
whether by letter, email, or fax, stored within Legis.
Imagine the cost and efficiency benefits of having all the
information for each matter, completely organised and ready for you to deal with
the next step, often by little more than selecting from a few options. Making
complex tasks simple is what makes Legis special; enhancing throughput,
improving accuracy and reducing overheads.
Reporting
Incorporated within all Legis applications are a wide range
of facilities to report on information held within the system. Additional
reports can be customised to meet individual requirements speedily.
Reports can be printed or sent to Word, Excel etc. as
required.
Help
Legis not only supplies a comprehensive on-line context
sensitive help system, but it can be easily extended to include guidance on
legal processes, in house policies, and procedures for training new staff.
Forms
Legis is fully integrated with Laserform (and supports viewing Oyez). Forms
are filled in automatically using the information recorded in Legis and leaves
little, if any, need for final editing. Completed forms are stored for rapid
future retrieval and adjustment. As an example, probably the most important
form, IHT 200, is populated automatically by built in processes saving
significant time and resource.
Tasks
If you prefer a task list driven workload, Legis will be set
up to run that way for you. Outstanding work can be viewed across all matters
and at the individual matter level. Powerful filters allow users to prioritise
their list of tasks and a single mouse click is often all that is needed to get
Legis to walk you through the task to completion. New tasks are often generated
automatically by such actions as the arrival of an email, but user defined tasks
can also be added manually, and fully maintained should timescales change.
Email
LegisSQL is integrated with Outlook so emails can be both
received and sent from within the case management system. Our advanced interface
ensures all incoming emails are stored with the matter it refers to, whilst
document attachments are extracted and stored automatically for instant perusal.
Outgoing emails are quickly prepared for you by the system, and any documents
you may want to send are easy to find and attach.
Time recording
Legis has a built-in ability to allocate time to all Fee
Earners working on their files. Specific charge rates can be made dependant on
Fee Earner experience/type of claim. Integration with your PMS is an option.
Information
tracking
Special letters requesting other parties to supply information automatically
feed into the Information tracking grid. This information can be easily viewed
or reported upon. When the information has been received, the entry status in
the grid can be automatically updated. This is particularly useful, for example,
for tracking information awaited from asset holders. Critical dates are stored
and tracked by the inbuilt workflow.
