Conveyancing

"Having made the decision to upgrade from the earlier Legis system, LegisSQL from Legis Systems has proved to be a major step forward in Conveyancing Case Management. We reviewed a variety of competing products before making the final decision, but considered that the additional flexibility and user friendly nature of the product, together with its continuous development would benefit the firm, its staff and clientele best."

Incorporating the latest requirements for generating HIPS, the Legis Conveyancing Case Management system is designed to deliver a high end workflow solution capable of dramatically increasing Fee Earner productivity. The feature rich interfaces go far beyond those offered by our competitors.

Matter Inception

A fast and effortless inception process allows you to enter as much or as little information as you have available. Maintaining or adding to this information at a later date is automatic during document generation or manual via the “Matter Details” process.

HIPS Production

HIPS documents can be scanned into the diary history and merged with user generated documents to create a HIPS PDF file, comprising of the sale statement, the HIPS index and the HIP itself.

Financial Information

All financial information linked to a property is stored for the purposes of producing a completion statement.

Disbursements and fees are stored as and when they are incurred. Even if the amount is not known initially a zero disbursement will be entered as a reminder that it will eventually need paying.

Cheque requests can be generated at the appropriate time or reporting can show disbursements that need to be paid for a given time.

Contacts

Contact details “at a glance” for all parties relating to a matter allowing quick access to telephone/fax numbers and email addresses.

Help

There is a comprehensive on-line context sensitive help system available, which can easily be extended to include guidance on legal processes and in house policies and procedures for new staff .

Documents

Documents may be simple templates, which launch into Word for customising. More complex documents prompt for data as they are loaded. Documents can be generated in single format or grouped together in a single process to save time. Automatic tasks can be set up for the fee earner or escalated to line managers. All documents are saved behind the diary history and can be viewed and edited as required.

LegisSQL allows for output to Word , Excel and PDF. Word is the normal output device but more and more legal firms want to output complex completion statements to Excel.

Forms

LegisSQL is fully integrated with LaserForm. Each one is fully coded so that it is populated with the stored data, this leaves little editing to be done once LaserForm is launched. Completed LaserForms are then stored behind the diary.

Tasks

The opening screen of Legis shows tasks for all opened matters in a chronological order up to and including today’s date or to a specified date in the future. The matter level task list shows all awaiting tasks for that particular matter. Tasks are generated through running specific processes but user defined tasks can also be added and fully maintained should timescales change.

SMS

Ability to send automated SMS messages or user created messages direct to mobile.

Email

LegisSQL is fully integrated with Outlook and emails can be generated from within the case management system, they can also include the attachment of documents from behind the diary history. If an email is generated from within LegisSQL, and a reply is received, the system can automatically attach the email to the correct matter and generate a notification task for the fee earner. Emails can also be routed manually and attached to the matter to ensure the diary history is fully updated.

Searches/Information Tracking

A useful tool in Conveyancing, the Information Tracking system allows all document and search requests to be tracked. Time limits can be set against each item of missing information. When the information is made available the Information Tracking entry can be updated accordingly. This is particularly beneficial in meeting tight deadlines for HIP production. A separate screen on the Information Tracking screen allows for specifying all searches required on a property together with the dates they were requested/received.
